This year’s event to be held on the 12th and 13th of December 2014 at the LUKENYA GROUNDS off Mombasa Road in the Machakos County with the event theme “Rough Jazz” – because after a day of 4×4 activities on the Lukenya Grounds, we will invite all our patrons to unwind and mellow down to an easy evening ushering in the camping mood for the night with Live sundowner Jazz music performance by renowned Lawrence Mwai.
The event is an opportunity for young people, families, motor vehicle enthusiasts and various service providers to come together and enjoy under an interactive, carnival atmosphere the world’s foremost range of utility, sport, recreational and executive 4x4s from the Land Rover stable featuring the iconic Defender, versatile Discovery and Freelander, high society Range Rover and the new face of SUV 4×4’s – the Evoque. Event activities range from course drives to arena shows and competitions, there’s something for everyone. To cap it all proceeds from the event fund-raiser activity – the bikini car wash – will all be channeled towards our “charity of choice 2014” that is Matasia Special Needs Center in Matasia, Ngong … all in our “give back to our community” spirit.
Background to the BUNDU ROVERS XtremeFEST 2014 event …
Initiated in 2009 the BUNDU ROVERS XtremeFEST has become annual interactive event showcasing the Land Rover range of vehicles and engaging motor sport enthusiasts, vehicle owners and the general public at large in a fun filled carnival style atmosphere with something for everyone!

The BUNDU ROVERS XtremeFEST event exclusively showcase the Land Rover in its element – highlighting the most iconic partnerships between man and machine; a relationship that has evolved over time in terms of vehicle applications and adaptations that take users beyond the ordinary. From use in the military, emergency services, outdoors or leisure, tours and travel, high fashion and status symbol arena all have found something extraordinary in Land Rover for over 60 years and the event encapsulates and celebrates these achievements.
The BUNDU ROVERS XtremeFEST combines two powerful themes in one place – taking on the extreme outdoors with kicking back and lazing with good company, food and music. The event provides a unique selling point to brands that cut across borders and appeal to a cross-section of users who will be present.
What will be happening?
There will be a host of fun and entertaining activities at the event including:
Exhibition stands … featuring service and leisure providers of all sorts with product and services.
Trail drives … drives round a selected course on the grounds with different off road conditions.
Amazing Recovery … simulations of various vehicle recovery situations
Tug of war … man on car and speed challenge
Articulation … showcasing the Land Rovers amazing articulation ability
Land Rover fashion show … showing off the different faces of Land Rover
Workshops … there will be experts on hand tackling different user issues, from maintenance to modifications and beyond
Land Rover car boot sale … featuring vehicles, parts and all sorts of odds and ends to go onto someone’s car or even better the trophy locker!
Trivia … quiz type questions all about Land Rovers
King of the beasts’ competition … the crowd gets to pick the best supped-up user Land Rovers on display
Refreshments … on site will be a food court to cater to different tastes and thirsts.
Entertainment – a DJ and Music Crew will be at hand to provide round the clock entertainment.
The evening will be graced by Live Jazz performance by Lawrence Mwai, this should culminate into Karaoke backed by live band.
Camping … tents and camping gear will be available for hire for an overnight stay on the grounds camping site.
Event features – services …
Security/Safety … peace of mind is paramount and security will be on hand. A first aid team, an ambulance and a fire brigade truck will be on site on stand by. There will also be Administration Police and branded bouncer presence. Perimeter lighting will be on hand to ensure visibility at take down time. The venue will be manned by security personnel and parking and event areas shall also be clearly marked and secured.
Space … the event venue is easily accessible ensuring maximum visitors at the same time being spacious enough to provide enough display area for all the events and activities which will including a 4×4 course driving track and a camp site for the crowd that will spend the night and have breakfast the next day.
Power backup … a 400 KVA generator will be on-site to ensure reliable power to each and every need.
Environment – Cleanliness is an important part of who we are, and in addition to conserving the environment we would like to leave the venue as we found it (if not better).
Charity is part of our Land Rover heritage … this year’s event takes that to another level with a percentage of the proceeds realized going to the Matasia Specia Needs Center …a center that prides itself as a platform where children and youth with neurological disabilities in Matasia and its environ’ will advance their fundamental human rights.
